David Palumbo, the owner and operator of Bighorn River Fly Fishing Guides, is in his 20th year of guiding on the Bighorn. He was born and raised in upstate New York and graduated from Ithaca College in 1991 with a Bachelor’s degree in history and environmental studies. Dave moved to Montana in 1991 and has been guiding and outfitting on the Bighorn since 1993. Dave would love to continue to be your outfitter by taking you fishing himself or arranging an experienced guide if he is not available. We have some of the most requested guides on the Bighorn.

Fishing is productive for all skill levels. Beginners not only learn to fish, but catch fish on the Horn. Trout average 14 – 17 inches and fish over 20 inches are not uncommon. It is reported, rightfully, that the Big Horn boasts numbers between 5000 and 10,000 trout per mile on the upper 13 miles.
